TWO years old today! | Murrieta Baby Photographer

I woke up super early this morning. I bet I was just hot because I slept in a sweatshirt, but it made me remember how exactly two years ago I woke up really really early: I got up and read my Bible. Then I tried to edit some photos. And soon decided to walk around the block – a few times. When I got back, I woke up my husband and we called some sweet friends to take care of our daughter while we went to the hospital – to meet this little person. She’s called Elizabeth if you’re being proper, but we call her Izzy or the silly goose.

Abby liked her little sister right away. . . for the most part. A couple of weeks after we brought Izzy home, I remember Abby asking, “So when is Izzy going to HER home?”

It was totally evident early on that baby Izzy has a laughing personality and a mischievous streak in her. Her older sister is pretty patient and forbearing.

Even at one year old, Izzy had no hair. It’s slowly started to come in and was worth the wait. She now has huge crazy ringlets.

What a blessing this little girl has been! We’re so thankful for her and look forward to many more years of laughing with her!

One Year Old Cora | Murrieta Baby Photographer

This little cutie has become part of my life over the last year. I have had the joy of seeing her at 3, 6, and 9 months, and now she’s one year old and toddling around. Her expressions and smiles are precious. She holds out her arms for balance when she walks. And she has had bumps and bruises that prove she is still learning.

Usually, I am a natural light photographer. I love to shoot outdoors – especially in fields with long grass, trees, fallen logs, and gorgeous afternoon sun. BUT sometimes our special memories are indoors, like Cora’s nursery.

Cora’s room is rich with gifts from loving friends and family, and treasures from her parent’s childhood. Before her room changed from a baby nursery to a little toddler room, we needed to record these memories! Seeing some of her toys took me back — who else wanted a puffalump when they were little?

One of my favorite things with little girls this age is sitting to read them books. I love that Jennie does that too!

After we gave Cora a baby paparazzi break, we took her outside to say hi to her doggies. I love love love this hairclip that Jennie found! I laughed when I learned that it was found on etsy, one of my favorite places for special and gorgeous handmade accessories. Jennie has great taste!! And the blue ballerina skirt? Love it too!

Cora needed a warmer outfit, so we did a quick clothing break and concluded with a few fun family shots.

I’m always amazed at how quickly babies change in the first year! I just took newborn portraits of baby Danica three months ago. She was so sleepy and tiny. She curled up in a little ball to sleep, and was even willing to rest on Daddy’s guitar.

Now Danica is a super cute BABY with her own expressions and showing personality. She’s definitely not a newborn anymore!

This is her big sister, Delany. She is super smart, loves her family, and is already learning to be musical just like her parents.

Hats?! LOVE it. They draw your attention to focus on the beautiful, sparkling eyes.

We moved houses over the summer and I still can’t believe how close I live to this great shooting location. I love the sun, the grass and the trees!

Delany is such a good big sister. She was so gentle as she held her baby sister. D – thanks for letting your babies sit right on the ground in the field! I love the natural look – without a blanket covering up the pretty green grass.

Dualy has fantastic fashion sense. I love how she has their outfits coordinate, but definitely are not matchy-matchy. If anyone needs help choosing clothing, I’ll just give you her number. (just kidding!!)

Henry at 5 months | Murrieta Baby Photographer

I was so excited to meet little Henry and take his first official photo session! He is such a happy little baby. It was so easy to coax his smiles out – and as you can see he usually laughed at me too! Yes, Henry, I’m sure I do look funny.

We opted to do Henry’s session outdoors at a park, that way we could also get some natural “outdoorsy” shots too. Henry isn’t really sitting up on his own yet, but you could have fooled me with this next image. I think we caught him at just the right moment.

I also think he looks super cute lounging in his basket, though . . .

We wrapped up with a few family photos.

Baby Iliana | Murrieta Newborn Photographer

Meet little Iliana at only 8 days old. She’s so precious and tiny, and was a fantastic model for her first photo session. Under 14 days is always the best time for newborn pictures, and I was so thankful that J&R were able to bring her in for a shoot before she started ‘growing up.’
Iliana was absolutely perfect through most of her shoot, but once we got to the “specialty shot” part of her session and I began to put her in the bowl, she put up a good fight! This sweet baby has some spice in her and it will be so fun to see her personality unfold over the years! (They bought one of my Baby’s 1st Year packages.) As you can see, I won the battle and Iliana actually got pretty comfortable in her new bed.

Big Brother came to check her out. I think he decided that he likes her.

It’s always amazing how quickly they grow. Just a little over a year ago, big brother would have fit inside of this bowl!

As we were getting her ready for this part of the shoot, she woke up for just a bit. Doesn’t she look like she’s just watching and thinking about it all?

There’s something about baby feet that I just LOVE!

Nine Month Old Cora | Temecula Family Photographer

It just takes a moment. That quick moment when they smile or laugh and you’re ready and you snap the photo. You would absolutely never know that this photo session wasn’t Cora’s favorite thing. With the help of Cora’s FANTASTIC parents, and by making a total fool of myself to get her to look and smile, we pulled off some great shots. I’ve never sung ‘the Itsy Bitsy Spider’ so many times before – but I don’t mind at all and it’s so rewarding to see the result!

I LOVE her sparkly eyes here!

She already has good taste in shoes!

Can she get any cuter? Sitting and crossing her ankles for me? Really??

Aren’t they a cute family?! Cora has the biggest grin here!

Rustic, vintage, classic. Yep – I love it. Even more so because it includes Cora’s special bear.

Cora’s honorary auntie and uncle joined us for a few special photos and I couldn’t resist taking one just of them as a couple in the beautiful sun glow.

And by the end, I think Cora was saying, “Goodnight everyone! I’m happy with my blanket and ready to go to sleep!”

I love watching kids grow up!! I’m always amazed at how they change so quickly and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this little guy over the past year. I met him as a tiny little guy at 14 days old and to see him now as a smiling laughing personality is amazing. They grow up so fast.

For this shoot, we got into the great light just before the sun sets – I never can resist a good sun haze!

Javi’s mom was 3 days from delivery when I took these. Doesn’t she look great?!

Javi is excited to be a big brother very soon! And I’m excited to meet his little sister and to take her newborn photos!!

This guitar photo was commissioned a couple of years ago, so I knew that whenever this sweet mommy and daddy had another baby, I needed to get this shot for them. It was fun to imagine and really fun to pull off! I was ready for little Danica as soon as she was born. At 9 lb, 2 oz, we knew we needed to act quickly to put her on his classical guitar before she outgrew it! She was carefully guarded and hovered over by her daddy and an assistant the entire time (both of whom have been discreetly cropped out.)

The little cutie was sleepy and perfect through the rest of the session. They usually do super well when they are photographed within the first week! She even smiled for me . . .

Isn’t she just the most adorable little girl?! I love her!

All she needs is a tip jar, right??

One year old Chloe | Murrieta Baby Photographer

I absolutely loved hanging out with Chloe and her mommy. I met little Chloe when she was two months old. It’s amazing how much they can change – and yet they still unmistakably look like they did when they were first born. Weird!! We did an early morning session to beat the heat (and get nice light). Chloe is such a beautiful combination of fair skin, blue eyes, and red hair. She is absolutely precious.

Isn’t this bench so cute? It was in someone’s yard and I’m so glad they let us take some photos on it! We even had an audience as the sweet owner wanted to watch a little bit of Chloe’s session. I love the look of the photo – it’s like an english garden.

Aren’t Chloe’s eyes just amazing?! They say that a baby’s eye color is stable at one year, so I think that Chloe is going to keep having these beautiful blue eyes!!

Why is she smiling? She was totally laughing at me as I sang and rocked out little kiddie songs to bring out her smiles. She even started to be-bop with me!!

I am so privileged to watch this little girl grow up. She’s changed so much from her 3 month to her 6 month photos. Cora has a beautiful big smile, easygoing personality, and fantastic parents. They love her so much!! It was fun for me to snap photos as they played with her!

Cora has the BEST smiles . . .

Love, love, LOVE this one! I think it’s my favorite from the session. She just looks so serene and beloved.
