Baby Claire

Last week I was up in the Northwest visiting family. My sister had asked me to do a little photo session with Claire while I was there, so when I saw Claire happily playing around in the front yard, I grabbed my camera. Claire is almost a year old and it’s really fun to watch her wobbly walking. I love babies in hats – and this is the BEST hat!

Baby Kiley

I had the pleasure of meeting Kiley and her parents recently. She’s just 2 1/2 weeks old, but is very strong and was very awake. :0) I love little newborns and it reminds me how much I need to savor my kids as they grow up SO fast! I’m glad to say that Kiley liked my flashes and was happy to look into my camera.

Her dad is a field geologist! How unique is that?! He was a really nice guy and clearly loves his new daughter!!

I always like to take “sleeping baby” photos – there is just something about a sleeping newborn that is calming and special. We eventually got Kiley calm and still for just a bit (remember, she’s an alert little twinkie!) and were able to capture this one plus a few more. She has super patient parents! Oh, and I love her lips!

Wow! Do you ever look back on the month and wonder where it has gone? It’s all a blur – in my case, a blur of diapers, playtime, little girl smiles, and pictures. I haven’t had time to post any of the photos I’ve been taking, but I hope to get back to my regular blogging soon. More later!

Six weeks and counting – Baby Izzy

At 7 weeks today, Izzy continues to be a delight to us. She’s super strong and is starting to sleep through the night. Hooray!! I love taking photos of her. She’s getting a little too old to lull to sleep in crazy poses, but I was glad to slide a few more in last week . . .

I love the crazy hat. Just a couple more with her sleeping:

But then she woke up and was WIDE awake.

I hope she keeps her blue sparkle eyes . . .

The newborn stage is going so quickly! Our baby Izzy is already one month old. She’s becoming more alert and active, and smiles when we smile at her! She’s such a joy . . . I have some more photos that I want to edit, but I thought I’d post these favorites before too much more time passed. I think she looks a lot like her big sister.

Baby Izzy

It’s been such a fun and busy Christmas for us! Our own little Elizabeth Anne arrived on December 23, weighing 7 lbs, 2 oz, and 19 1/4″ long. She’s healthy, strong, and super sweet! We have lots of late nights but I’m soaking up the snuggle time . . . Big sister Abby likes to be a helper and runs to get a binky when Izzy cries.

I’ve really enjoyed taking her newborn photos. It was hard to choose some to share – so there will probably be a couple installments of baby photos as I find time to post.

This last one was taken just two days after Izzy was born . . .

Baby Judah – a Menifee Newborn

Yes, I’m still officially taking a break from photo sessions, but I couldn’t resist when my friend asked me to take pictures of her new little boy. Hopefully Judah and my little one on the way will grow up to be good friends! Judah was super alert when he came over, but we got him to sleep and my favorite photos came in the sleepy stage . . .

I can’t decide which version I like better – any thoughts?? And GREAT hat, Rosy!!
