Sisters

August 14th, 2010

One of the things I love about being a photographer is taking pictures of my girls. I honestly think it’s harder to take photos of your own kids than other people’s kids. Maybe it’s that kids listen better to people who aren’t their parents. Or maybe it’s that my poor kids live with incessant paparazzi. Either way, on John’s day off, I put the kids in coordinating tops and we jumped in the car for a quick photo session.

I got some sweet moments – holding hands AND giving kisses! Wow – my sweet girls!!

Ha! And some real moments!

What a fun outing. This is one of my absolute favorite things to do! Can I take pictures of your kids, too? :)

Dizan & Stephany – Engagement Session part II

July 23rd, 2010

I’ve been wanting to share some more favorites from Dizan and Stephany’s engagement session. This first photo almost didn’t happen. I was looking forward to taking Dizan and Stephany down to the big concert area in Balboa Park. I’ve been there MANY times and I have never seen it actually in use – although I always thought it would be cool to go to something there. Well, as we headed down towards the stage with big elegant pillars, we saw a zillion people and heard a full orchestra. Beautiful, but bummer!! But, it made me stop my full charge to the stage, and look around me to see this photo. The light was perfect . . . and I am thankful for the change of plans to get the shot!

They are ALWAYS smiling at each other. I love that about them!

Dizan’s sister, Tina, joined us for the shoot and took care of watching Stephany’s hair and make-up during the session. She’d jump in there for me and help with the inevitable wispy hair, touch up the lip gloss, etc. – it was fantastic!

Dizan & Stephany – Engagement Session

July 20th, 2010

This Sunday evening was perfect – perfect weather, setting and company – as I got to shoot an engagement session for Dizan and Stephany in Balboa Park, San Diego. John and I have had the joy of getting to know them at church this year. It’s been such a blessing to be part of their lives as they prepare for their journey together in marriage.

I love this first photo so much and can’t decide if I like color or black and white better. I thought I’d share both . . .

Stephany had some makeup help from Monique Tinahui. Doesn’t she glow?? I love how Dizan smiles at her.

I’ve got more sneak peek photos coming later!!!

Rachael – Deer Park High Senior

July 16th, 2010

What an honor! My first shoot where someone hops on a plane to CA to get their photos taken. By me?!? That seems crazy – because I KNOW me – but it was a total honor to take Rachael’s Senior photos. This is just a quick sneak peek to family home in Washington – especially Grandma and Grandpa!!

Nikko Zane – Murrieta Newborn Photography

June 22nd, 2010

Meet Nikko Zane, a four day old baby boy. Little Nikko is sleepy and happy – a perfect little model for me. I think he will definitely have some spunk and personality to keep up with his two big brothers! I love this first one – content and safe with daddy . . .
